These characters, carefully constructed on the front-end, sprang to life as the story unfolded. The description of Matthias Farm and Estate are sublime. If we'd all had a sage-like, street-wise, Doc Marten stompin' teacher like Mr. Douglass, the world would indeed be a better place. This is the best piece of fiction to darken my doorstep in a hot minute. There are some pivotal, sphincter-tightening moments between these pages. Screenplay-worthy! ‘Holla’ if you hear me’!!
